New Smooth Jazz Track from Daniel DeLoach, "Blue Spring" Available March 20

Well it has certainly taken longer than expected but Daniel DeLoach is finally ready to release his latest smooth jazz effort "Blue Spring" on March 20.  "Yeah there were more setbacks than expected after I got the original idea sketched out, including a second round of covfefe....I thought i would never get this one done."  Nonetheless, the new track stakes out a new funky and bluesy direction for Deloach, who says of the track "Yes, its definitely got a good groove going and I tried to stick with that. I've really been enjoying alot of 80's lately, Quincy type stuff...very inspring."

DeLoach Drops New Smooth Jazz Single, "Butterscotch", Featuring Collabs with Sugarfret and Dorian Lopez

After a long period of work that included reaching out to other talented artists, smooth jazz aficionado Daniel Deloach is ready to release his next single "Butterscotch" on July 25, 2024. "It was a bit of an effort," says DeLoach. "I had this cool vibe with the chords and stuff going, but couldn't always get the sounds I wanted." A particular issue was the bass sound. "Yeah, I was cycling thru all these synth bass options but nothing sounded REAL. I didn't want an EDM track." That's when the collab idea sprung to mind. "What people don't know about Sugarfret - sure, he's a great guitar player and visionary songwriter but he's also a pretty good bass player too! So I rang him up and said 'Hey man, think you could help me out?'. He said no problem, and of course immediately proceeded to lay down a great bass track." Percussion was another sticking spot. "I wanted to have kind of a different sounding outro section...I was thinking something reminiscent of the outro to Toto's Rosanna, which is so fantastic. But I was struggling to come up with the appropriate kind of beat and percussion sound." Fortunately he had recently met the Jacksonville, FL based illustrious drummer, percussionist and DJ, Dorian Lopez. "So he comes over with this cajon, and I'm like..'Whaaaat?'. But then he starts jamming on it and I'm like, oh damn - let me get the mic!" In the end, after all the effort, it was worth it. "Oh boy," says Deloach, "I probably went thru 50 versions of the lead/melody...it was a struggle. But in the end I think we finally got it!" At Last, Some New Smooth Jazz from Daniel DeLoach

It was a long and winding road but finally a new smooth jazz single from talented multi-instrumentalist Daniel DeLoach is set to be released on Feb 16.   "Yeah, late 2022 was kind of a rough time," he says, "Sometime around October we experienced the dreaded studio server crash....and the worst part of this, aside from reloading all the pieces necessary to a professional recording studio, was we lost alot the recording that was already in the can."  A pretty soul-crushing turn of events, how do you respond to that?  "Well, interestingly it was kind of freeing. Alot of stuff that just wasn't vibing with me but that I was still throwing myself at we just jettisoned.  So while in some ways we were 'starting from scratch' we also just went forward with some new ideas and in some cases, new instruments."   Is that how you arrived at the more synth-heavy sound on the latest track, 'Echoes of Love'?   "Yeah, sort of. I mean, certainly the idea. The synth part of it...well, frankly I've been going down that rabbit hole alot over the last year or so.  Soft synths, little desktop units, even straight up piano. There's just such a wealth of sounds out there. I wanted to bring some of that into the latest tune."   From what we've heard, mission accomplished!
